Online advert spending to surpass print in 2012

For the first time in U.S. history, marketers are projected to spend more on online advertising than on advertising in print magazines and newspapers.

In a recent study conducted by eMarketer, online advertising is expected to generate almost $40 billion in sales this year compared to a sum of almost $34 billion in printed media. Online advertising revenues are expected to grow over the next 5 years, with total online ad revenue expected to hit over $60 billion during that time. Online advertising, using services such as Google AdWords, are proving their worth and taking over from more traditional forms of printed advertising. Is your company on board?
