eBay has announced that it will be shutting down its “Magento Go” small-business e-commerce products in early 2015.
“Magento Go” is a hosted ecommerce platform – that is, it runs on their servers and users pay an ongoing monthly fee to use the service.
In an interview, Magento marketing head Craig Peasley said the company is making these cuts to focus on the two Magento e-commerce software products that are having success: Its Magento Enterprise and Community Edition offerings, which target bigger and/or more sophisticated online sellers.
eTailor have worked with many partners in the past to deliver “Magento Community Edition” projects with great success, so we are delighted that Magento are re-focusing their efforts into this system. With full focus of the development on Magento Community & Enterprise we can expect continued improvements of and extensions to the Magento platform for years to come.
