AntiVirus and Firewall Solutions

In order to protect your machines and data, we recommend that at a minimum, you run both an AntiVirus and a Firewall on all of your machines. This will help prevent any loss of data and damage from viruses.

An antivirus program that is free for personal user is AVG, which is available from: http://free.grisoft.com

You can also get a free (for personal use) firewall program called SyGate from: http://www.tucows.com/preview/213160

In order to be up to date and as protected as possible, we recommend that you update your virus definitions at least once a week.

It is also important to update your version of Windows, in order to protect your system further. You need to do this on all of your machines, and the updates can be downloaded from the Microsoft Windows Update page. Visit http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ for more information.
