Q: I have bought a new computer - how do I transfer my mail account over to it, including all my old emails?
This can be quite a difficult process if you are not familiar with your email client, and it is recommended you enlist the assistance of an I.T. engineer to complete this. It can usually be split into two sections:

  1. Export your existing emails from within your mail client. The process for doing this can vary between email clients. Upon completeion of an export, it usually gives you one large file containing all your emails. This should be copied to your new PC using a blank CD or USB device.
  2. Import the old emails onto the new PC - you will likely need your username/password for your email account to complete this process. Please contact us to retrieve this information.

Q: My eTailor Account Setup sheet/email describes one of my email addresses as being a '* @ catchall' - what does this mean?
This is a special type of email account that we can provide for you, which essentially allows you to have an email account that will recieve emails to *Anything*@yourdomain.com. Many of our clients will advertise their email address as e.g. info@yourdomain.com, and the catchall account will accept mails to this address, and allow you to send from that address.

Q: What do Spam Filters actually do?
Spam Filters remove any unsolicited or spam e-mails from your mail server, which means that you do not receive spam. The levels of protection vary, and can be adjusted according to how much spam your domain receives on a daily basis. eTailor can set your spam filters to the correct level to ensure that you receive only the mail that you want.
